Exploring Apps
Asked some friends/colleagues what motivates them to use/install an app and these are the following replies:
- If it's free
- Good reviews
- If they actually need it
- interactive (quiz or a daily fact)
- connects people
- Inclusive of nearby events that can be attended
- easy to use/navigate
"I personally consider apps like an electronic tool. So if there's no use or gain from it, I wouldn't download it. If I just wanted to read about different cultures I'd Google search."
- Waverly (Primary research)
"I like to compare/relate. So how would it actually compare/relate to what I'm already used to?"
I have tried searching online for an app about "learning about culture" and the following came up
- The Google Arts & Culture app: After downloading it myself I thought it would ask me to put in what I'm interested in but it use my google account profile instead (not sure how I feel about that). It came up with some architecture about India and how to make selfies into artwork?
